Good Morning!
I started a new job approximately a month and a half ago, and it has been very challenging, to say the least! I have been putting in a lot of hours with this new job, and that hasn't lent itself to my having any extra time to create cards and flowers. However, the other day, I needed to work on a card for my husband's niece who just got engaged, and I started playing again. Gosh, I really love creating flowers out of paper...
I started out using Cheery Lynn Designs Orchid die, and ran it thru my Big Shot using dark purple. I had "extra" pieces that I saved, and inspiration hit me. I was going to make a small purple clematis with it. Well, once I got started, I couldn't stop! I sat in front of the television with my family running purple paper thru my Big Shot to get a bunch of the extra pieces, and the flowers in the card shown below are what I got. I wanted to make a card that looked like a small bouquet of flowers. Clematis are known to climb up a wall or a trellis, so I added some Cheery Lynn Designs Flourishes cut out of a dark green to show the tendrils on the clematis vine.
I am pretty pleased with how this card turned out, and was even more excited when I realized the card qualified for this week's Cheery Lynn Designs Card Challenge # 76, "Pretty in Purple": http://cheerylynndesignschallenge.blogspot.com/search/label/challenge
In order to see more of the detail of these clematis, here is a close-up.
I hope you enjoy this card as much as I enjoyed creating it!
Card Recipe:
Cardstock: Stampin' Up Whisper White, Hobby Lobby Dark Purple, Lilac, Dark Green, Medium Green and Olive Green. For the clematis centers I used a dark yellow and a light yellow.
Dies: Spellbinders Labels 8, Decorative Labels 8. Cheery Lynn Designs Orchid, Build-A-Flower Embellishment 1, Olive Branches, Mini Fanciful Flourish .
Also used a Sizzix embossing folder on the light purple cardstock, but I don't know the name of the folder!
Have a great week!
