Good Morning Everyone!
The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and it is another beautiful day here in Denver. I sure hope everyone has a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. Many thanks to all of the brave men and women who defend freedom around the world. May God Bless Each and Everyone of You!
I have been working a lot of hours, and preparing to go to my husband's niece's wedding, so I have been working on a Father's Day card for my father-in-law before I leave for the wedding. Funny how as the weather gets nicer, I have more to do around the house! LOL! My children tell me it's called "job security"! My dad has been gone 19 years now, and I have been truly blessed to have a wonderful, caring, and loving father-in-law. He has taught me so much, but most of all, he's taught me to cherish the moments with family.. so here's to you, Dad - "I love you!"
This card also qualifies for the Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge #81 - Make It Manly! Wow - what a challenge this card was for me. Instead of adding my usual 3-D flowers, I added some cork, some brads, and crimped some paper to made the card stand out, turning the edges just a bit. I also used some Tim Holtz Alpha Cards (one of those impulse purchases) that I cut in half to spell out "DAD". I just couldn't resist, and added some Fanciful Flourishes and some Lace Corner Deco F (don't tell Dad there's lace!) to add to the card's overall appeal.
Card Recipe:
Cardstock: Stampin' Up Kraft, Chocolate Chip and Bashful Blue; and daisy d's Premium Designer cardstock.
Die's: Spellbinder's Fleur de Lis Squares, and Squares Large. Cheery Lynn Design's Fanciful Flourish and Lace Corner Deco F.
(I put the cork thru my Big Shot using the Spellbinder's Squares Large, and then traced and fancy cut the same square out of Chocolate Chip to border the cork before putting it on the Fleur de Lis square..)
Thinking of You!
More to come ......
I am very new at this blog business, and it has taken me much longer than I anticipated to post my information, so please bear with me, as this "garden" is a definite work in progress!
