Today's card was made for Cherry Lynn Design's Card Challenge #74 "Back to Nature" - Add a bug, butterfly, bird, etc.  I got a bit carried away, and added three butterflies!

Card Recipe:

Cardstock:  Stampin' Up Whisper White and Sage Shadow.  Michael's Medium Blue and Dark Green
Ribbon:  Michael's Dark Pink
Dies:  Cheery Lynn Designs Orchid Die and Fanciful Flourish; Martha Stewart, Small Hydrangea punch, Small butterfly punch, corner punch; Spellbinder's Floral Ovals, Classic Ovals
Embossing Folder:  Sizzix Wood grain

I used the small flowers from Martha Stewart's small hydrangea punch to make the white hyacinths.  I think next time, I will chalk or ink the centers....  LOL!  I just can't get enough of making these flowers!  To make the beautiful orchids, I used Cheery Lynn Designs Orchid die, and brushed some pink chalk at the center of each petal.  For the center of the orchid, I water colored pink ink to match the chalk color, and then put a bit of yellow flower soft in the center.  For the orchid buds, I really got carried away, and inked the bottom of each bud, then ran the die thru my machine again using dark green cardstock.  I took and glued the dark green over each bud to make it look more realistic.

I know I got pretty carried away with this card, when the trellis in the center of the oval was completely covered up by the flowers!  LOL!  Oh well.....

I love your orchids. I have this die too but i feel kinda intimidated to try it out... I know, silly... But I love how your flowers turned out. You put a lot of hard work into those. :)

Thinking of You!

Thinking of You!
Welcome to my garden of paper petals. Nothing makes happier than giving a card to someone who treasures it. A friend of mine loves the color purple, so for her birthday, I made her a card with a large purple mum as the center, with light colored purple daisies, some dark purple flowers for depth, and some baby's breath as filler. My friend just loved the card, and has it showcased in a shadow box from Michael's. She couldn't wait to show me what she had done. Imagine my surprise when I walked into her family room, and there on the wall was my card hanging up on the wall. It looks beautiful! I hope you all enjoy it!

More to come ......

I am very new at this blog business, and it has taken me much longer than I anticipated to post my information, so please bear with me, as this "garden" is a definite work in progress!

Paper Hugs,

Deb
